He does not listen. I came in due to concerns related to my family history and requested testing. However, his primary focus was my weight. Had he reviewed my chart, he would have seen that I previously had weight-loss surgery and that I am actively working on weight management. When I mentioned that I had a gastric sleeve, his response was, "Oh, I didn't see that," despite the fact that he is the provider who signed off on my preoperative clearance. An EKG was performed, and he was vague about the results before eventually stating that it showed signs of a mild heart attack. He advised me not to be alarmed, explaining that this can appear on EKGs for larger individuals. This was concerning, especially since other EKGs I have had were normal. I had to redirect the conversation multiple times. As someone with a family history of heart disease, my sole purpose for the visit was to be tested and to be proactive about my health. I am an employee at Atrium and will share my experience with others. As a side note, some providers appear to be practicing solely based on retained academic knowledge, and some exhibit a God complex or seem burnt out and may need to retire. I am actively looking for another cardiologist. In the meantime, I will complete the tests that were ordered so they are documented in my chart.
