She said she could not read my lab report and that she doesn't treat labs she treats people. Then why am I paying all this money for doctors to run labs and no one takes the results seriously or can explain them to me. She accused me of being over weight because I eat McDonald's all the time. Didn't listen to me already prejudged me. I had requested the appointment because rheumatologist said to follow up with her. I tried to explain to her my past history with Lyme disease and she told me we don't have Lyme disease in the south and she couldn't order a Lyme disease test. She didn't know how. I had chronic Lyme disease when I lived in the north, but I'm from here. I am concerned that's the reason for my current health problems. She just kept telling me I need to loose weight. I do realize that, but I also realize that there's something more to why I'm gaining so much weight. She never took in consideration how I was feeling and that I have neuropathy that is getting worse. That my legs swell and I have difficulty walking. I have stage 2 kidney disease. Anything I tried to ask or explain she would not listen. She said you should exercise and prop your feet up. She acted as if I was just fat and lazy. I left in tears. Why would she call me in if she can't and didn't plan to explain my lab results. I can't understand why a doctor can't read a lab report. When I asked for the appointment I explained that I needed to know if the lab results were something to be concerned about. If not I would have waited. I'm an educated person and I work a full time job. I don't eat McDonalds. I don't lay around doing nothing. In fact I don't eat out very much at all. I don't add salt to my food. I've been having problems with my health and I'm trying to figure out the cause. I've had other doctors say I'm retaining fluid. They were testing me for lupus but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I tried asking if that's not it would could be the reason for all I'm feeling and she started reprimanding about how I should be thankful it's not lupus as if I wanted to have a chronic illness. I am happy it's not that but I just want to know why I'm feeling this way for so long. I want to feel better. There was no reason for me to be treated that way. If she could not help that's all she had to say. She did send the referral for me that another doctor recommended, but she made it clear she didn't think it was necessary. She ordered labs but told be to wait until later. Why if she doesn't plan to go by them or read the report? I plan to find another doctor. That can explain my lab results and listens to their patients.
